thredUP is the world’s largest fashion resale platform. The online resale engine for women and kids apparel, shoes, and accessories generates revenue from items that are sold to buyers through the website and mobile app. thredUP has redistributed around 100 million unique garments from around 35,000 brands. https://www.thredup.com/

🚌 Student: Maggie Yan
Maggie is from Long Island, NY and is studying Finance and Business Analytics. She’s currently on the e-board of Start@Shea, the student-run wing of the Shea Center for Entrepreneurship. She’s currently working part-time as an Analytics Intern at Pivot Analysis. Previously, Maggie worked as a Biopharma Operations Analyst at Pfizer and interned at Wheelhouse Creative and SinoVision in addition to serving in Teaching, Research, and Program assistant roles at BC. She'll be working at KPMG this summer as a Financial Transformation Advisory Intern.

🎓 Alum: Molly McFadden
Molly is a Growth Equity Investor at Arthur Ventures, an early growth capital firm leading investments in B2B software companies located outside Silicon Valley. She joined Arthur Ventures as an Associate in 2020. Prior to Arthur Ventures, Molly worked as an Investment Banking Analyst at UBS, where she spent time supporting M&A and capital markets transactions within the Real Estate, Lodging, and Leisure group. She graduated from BC’s Carroll School of Management with degrees in Finance and Managing for Social Impact.

🐝 What else is going on in BC’s tech community?
thredUP, an online resale company specializing in secondhand clothing and accessories founded by BC alum James Reinhart (MCAS '01), went public last Friday! This is a huge win for BC startups. More: BC’s 2019 article on thredUP.
SSC Ventures closed its third $4M fund a few weeks ago in March with a contribution from Drizly co-founder and BC alum Justin Robinson (CSOM '11). SSC is a seed-stage fund investing in BC-founded startups. More: BostInno
