Happy February! I have a love-hate relationship with February. I love the chocolate sales on the 15th but hate that my New Year's diet resolution is officially over.
From an AI-powered study app to social media that creates plans and experiences for you, we’re highlighting another month in BC tech & entrepreneurship. Go Eagles! 🦅

Featured Startups
🚌 Student Startup: Synopto
Synopto is an AI-powered study app founded by Max Pintchouk, Eamon Coffey, and Michael Muzafarov. Synopto emphasizes understanding rather than memorization through enforced productivity and a gamified reward system. It employs many unique features such as Apple’s screen lock for enforced studying, push notifications sent at peak retention periods, and dynamic question/answer generation. Synopto incentives users to study by producing one-of-one images that correlates to the subject of the study session and updates based on user progression. Studying is divided via spaced repetition, which utilizes the modern leitner system to determine the timing of notifications, paired with Apple’s screen lock to eliminate distractions such as TikTok or Instagram. Synopto was initially started as a project for the 2023 UPenn Hackathon, where it won first prize.

🎓 Alumni Startup: Venu
Venu is a social media that creates plans and experiences for you. A menu for venues.
Understanding the stresses that come with trying to maintain a steady social life in the world we live in today, Venu was created for people who want to take their experiences to the next level without having to worry about texting everyone you know to find something fun to do. Rather than posting to make people aspire to be you, invite people! Use Venu to promote events and plan out future excursions with anyone you want.
